What Is Anu:

Anu’s mission, is to offer a venue for emerging local and national artists of high quality and unique perceptions who have not acquired mainstream exposure or are looking to simply promote and sell their work. Anu offers serious collectors, producers, students and the public the opportunity to take part in creating, selling and buying art. As we grow, we will one day have a place where you can enjoy art, food and entertainment, all under one roof.

We are accepting applications for our first annual "Anu 12". We are looking to feature 12 artists for the 2019 coming year. These artists (one artist or art collective group per month) will be featured at our location in South Salt Lake, UT. Anu wants to show Salt Lake City a collection of urban art from other parts of country.

For 2019 we are looking for artist that has an urban style, with the colors and shapes to match. We are looking for 2d and smaller 3d artwork to fit in the gallery section of the shop. We’re not looking for large artwork. Your items will need to fit in the space provided and reasonably priced so that we can sell your items to the local community and businesses.

Winners of 2019 “Anu 12” will receive the following:

1) An opening reception at the beginning of the month. (You will be the featured artist).
2) A closing reception at the end of the months.
3) $200 cash prize.
4) Commissions from the items we sell.
5) Featured on our website, facebook, instagram and other online media advertisement.
6) Featured on other media advertisement. (letter, brochure, flyer, etc.).
7) A team promoting and selling your artwork to other businesses and the public.
8) Cold-calling potential clients to view and purchase your artwork.

Our purpose is to expose urban art to the city and the community. We want people to see the world outside the state of Utah. As they convert this area into the “Art District of Salt Lake city”, we believe urban art should be a part of it.

Explaining the double commission process:

To better understand how we receive commissions for the sales of your artwork, here is an example of a product for sale.

Example: You would like to receive $1000 for your product while under the double commission guidelines. The cost of your product then goes from $1,000 to $2,000 for sale in our store. This way you are able to receive the amount you requested and we can collect commission for the effort of the sale.

Rules and fees for Artist applicant

We are looking for urban artwork. A mix of fine art and production art. Something that is unique and original to you and others. Artwork with nudity, profanity, political, religious hate, other forms of hate, and any images that can't be shown to the general public or children will not be accepted.

Your time for the display of your work may be shortened. Each awarded artist will need to give a notice of their acceptance with an estimated date and time they will deliver their items.

All Participating Artist will be featured on our website

Every artist will be featured on our website with information about you and a clip of one of your artworks and how to reach you (email, your website, etc.). You will choose how to be contacted. Otherwise, we will put as much as we can and contact you if someone is interested in your work. We will also use this list to reach out to you about other opportunities with Anu and the city. These opportunities would mostly be presenting and selling your work. We want to make sure that even those who don't win the contest still have a way to gain from applying. We need a list of Urban artist to promote to the city when the city is in need of urban art. We also offer booth space opportunities within our storefront. We want to be the place they go to for a selection of artist to choose from. We make no money for this offer. We just want to make sure you know who helped you get that next contract or sale.

Delivering of artwork

Artists will be responsible for the delivery of their items. We will be responsible for the return of any artwork not sold. At which time we will also mail the your commissions from any sales. You will be given the option to leave any unsold artwork with us until it has been sold. This work will be feature in all shows and events we have as “National Artist Creations”. Your cash prize will be sent to you once we have received your artwork. Or you can choose to receive your cash prize upon the return your items. You must deliver your artwork to our location at the date given your acceptance letter. Missing your delivery due date could delay your opening reception and my cause it to be canceled. You will then only have a closing reception. We will, however, continue to try to sell your work thought the month. Some items may not be available for view during the closing reception as they have already been sold.

Cash Prize

Since this is our first annual competition, cash prize is $200 per artist. Delivery of your cash prize will be made once we are certain you and/or your work is here ready for display before your open reception day. Once we have received your items, you will be mailed your first check. You may receive a second check with the amount made from the sales of your artwork (if the work was sold).
